This year we have an unprecedented opportunity to help our young people recognize they can become saints right now by growing close to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. On September 7, 2025, Pope Leo XIV canonized Blessed Carlo Acutis. As the first millennial saint, Carlo’s story is very inspiring to children and youth of our time.

Carlo was a regular kid who watched cartoons growing up, played video games, was an avid user of technology as a teen, loved his four dogs, and had a very active social life. At the same time, he developed a love for Jesus in the Eucharist, attended daily Mass along with frequent Adoration and Confession, defended Church teaching (e.g. sanctity of human life), stood up for classmates who were being bullied, and his witness of faith led many adults to conversion (including his own parents).

In concert with Carlo’s canonization, our parish family is embarking on a collaborative project to learn about his life over the course of the new academic year.

Carlo said, "The Eucharist is my highway to heaven," and through this project, we have a tangible means to encourage our students to follow this same road.
