Council Meetings
Council 4587 meets at 7:00 PM on the third Thursday of each month. We gather at 6:30 PM for the Rosary at Our Lady of Good Hope in St. Joseph Hall.
Fr. Charles E. Mentrup Council 14400
at St. Mary of the Assumption Church
Council 14400 was founded in 2007 by the late George Spears, a dedicated pro-life advocate whose commitment to service set the tone for everything we do. Today, our 125 members range in age from 25 to 84, with tenures spanning a few months to over 45 years — truly a council for all generations.
We proudly bear the name of Father Charles Mentrup — "Father Chuck" — pastor of St. Mary in Franklin from 2003 until his tragic passing on October 31, 2006. A beloved educator, he taught theology at Alter High School, served as principal of Bishop Fenwick High School from 1997 to 2005, and led the school's transformative move to a new campus in Warren County.
As Archbishop Pilarczyk said upon his passing, Father Mentrup was "a dedicated pastor and an enthusiastic educator" who served the Church well. His spirit continues to guide our council today.
Council Meetings
Council meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at St. Mary Church, in the lower level, immediately following the 7:00 PM Mass — typically around 7:40 PM. Meetings last about an hour, followed by a social where members can catch up and connect.

at St. Henry Catholic Church
Knights of Columbus Council #14882 was formed in the fall of 2009, at St Henry Church. Bill Wirtz was our first Grand Knight, Lou Pilati was our first Deputy Grand Knight, and Bill Kane was our first Financial Secretary.

The Council was named after Fr. Martin T. Gilligan, the Pastor at St Henry Church during much of the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, and a Priest with a very unique history of Service in China after WWII, who was able to save many religious persons from persecution during the Communist Takeover there.

Our Council supports St Henry Church, of course, as well as Bishop Liebold School programs and scholarships. We also support community youth groups, Right-To-Life groups, Seminarians, and Food Banks. And we support our Military, and K of C Charities.

Our primary fund raisers are our annual Super Garage Sale, and we participate in the annual Golf Tournament and Fish Fry with the other Councils in SJPII Family.

Our Council Faith activities include reciting the rosary before every membership meeting, providing meals for the Retreats in the Parish Family, providing rosaries to each member of the Confirmation Class, and giving financial support to Seminarians from our Diocese.

Council Meetings
Council 14882 meets on the 4th Monday of each month in the Parish Activity Center at St Henry Church. Officers’ Meeting is at 6:20 pm (all are welcome), rosary at 6:45 pm, and business meeting at 7:15pm.

Fr. Nicholas Schneider Assembly 3188
Fr. Nicholas Schneider Assembly 3188 @ St. Mary of the Assumption ChurchAssembly 3188 is named in honor of Father Nicholas Schneider, a devoted pastor who served St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Franklin, Ohio for 54 remarkable years. Appointed pastor on March 24, 1913, Father Schneider oversaw the completion of the church and rectory buildings and guided the parish's growth for decades — including construction of the first phase of the parish hall in 1961.
A man of deep tradition, he welcomed priests from St. Leonard's Seminary in Centerville to celebrate Sunday Masses following Vatican II, while continuing to offer weekday Masses in Latin at 86 years old. He retired in August 1967 and passed away that same year on November 28. Assembly 3188 was founded shortly after K of C Council 14440 was established in November 2007.
Today, our 52 Sir Knights represent five churches across the greater Miami Valley: St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Springboro, St. Henry Catholic Church's in Miamisburg, Our Lady of Good Hope Church in Miamisburg, St. Augustine in Waynesville, and Holy Trinity in Coldwater.
The Fourth Degree is the Patriotic Degree of the Knights of Columbus — dedicated to fostering love of God and country through responsible citizenship and service. As St. John Paul II taught, true patriotism is a properly ordered love that honors our nation while respecting the dignity of all people.
