HOLY EUCHARIST
The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist.

First Communion
St. John Paul II Parish welcomes baptized children to celebrate Frist Reconciliation in the fall of 2nd grade and First Holy Communion in the spring. Children will prepare for both First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion throughout the 2nd grade year.
First Sacrament preparation includes:

An intro session with a ceremonial lighting of the child’s baptismal candle

Two parent sessions to equip parents to lead their children on this sacramental journey

Two parent & child retreats
-
First Reconciliation service
-
Rehearsal and First Communion Mass
Additional Guidelines:

Enroll in an ongoing faith formation program such as PSR (Parish School of Religion), Bishop Leibold or another Catholic school, or homeschool

Attend Sunday and Holy Day Mass with family

Provide a baptismal certificate unless the child has been baptized at one of the churches within St. John Paul II Parish.
